Helloooo Royals! A trip to the Brooklyn Museum to see the highly raved about Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibit-- Basquiat: The Unknown Notebooks Displayed are his notebook pages filled with personal observations of his environment, sketches, wordplay & cultural references. Basquiat speaks about being an unknown striving artist for many years to becoming a wealthy famous, sought after artist. His downfall came as a result of depression & drug abuse brought on by his quick rise to fame. The popular statement is that Basquiat died as he was beginning to 'grapple with his contradictory existence'. Before leaving the museum, I had to stop by the reinstallation of the classic Egyptian galleries. 'Egypt Reborn: Art of Eternity' allows visitors to glimpse our heritage in all its elegance, grandeur, and.... well....... Regalia! Being inches from genuine pieces of art from our history automatically caused me to assume my royal stance & opulence. I recommend you take the trip to Brooklyn
& take in the knowledge oozing out of the Brooklyn Museum! And if you need a cool place to eat 'post-museum' Holla at me! I've got a few suggestions!
