It's that time of year!
Graduations and Step Ups!
And for the third year in a row,
​I was asked to speak at Langston Hughes Elementary School Annual Career Day!

Can I be honest with y'all?
I'm always so nervous about speaking to youth!
It's because I know these talks can mean so much to these easily molded minds.
Much like when I was a child, something I say can stick with a child and
​Help create the path of life they will follow!

Luckily, these children received my knowledge very well!
I made sure I didn't try to sell them on my career--
I gave them tools to live by that would ensure
their independence & creativity.
It was a beautiful day with these beautiful minds and beautiful smiles!
I was revitalized by the energy I received from them!

Hello My Royal Family!

The season is changing & so is some of my home decor!
Little known fact about me:
I used to love purchasing fresh flowers for myself every weekend!
Until.. I realized, I had to start creating a budget for it! Lol
No Thank$!
I'm gunna have to hold off on that expense for now!
That didn't mean I had to give up on the LOOK of freshness & life in my space!
I was raised to not like anything artificial!
No artificial people! No artificial foods! No artificial plants!
As I have grown and matured,
I have become aware of the expectations I have from people & things!
And now, I'm making my own arrangements with these 
'permanently fresh looking plants'
(I just made that up! But you know what I mean, right?)

Using these flowers that will never die
Help my pockets & my palace maintain chicness & freshness!
I think I will keep this colorful change for a few months..
Deep inside... I really like my all white arrangements!
But hey! Change is good!

Not so good for the waist line...
But oh so good for the tastebuds!

If you're going to celebrate, make sure it's 'Dun-well'!

The best donuts to date have got to be from
Dunwell Doughnuts!

This Brooklyn based food haven puts the other 'DD' to shame!
You can taste the difference...
You can taste the love in every bite!

And when you stop by,
have some coffee, iced or hot..
Add some ice cream to the top of yours!
(I did this with the ones I took home!)

Just enjoy yourself!
