I can't contain myself! I've got the goods!
Yes! I have an addiction! No! I don't need help! It seems like 'The Container Store' and 'Home Goods' scream for me to come in! They do! They scream! For me! And with their elation-- they doors open wide for me! Ok... maybe they're automatic and open for everyone, but I take such kind gestures personally. My palace is ever growing into a most comfortable, chic oasis. And there is always from for Home Goods decor and there's always areas to be organized by The Container Store inventory. My trip to Home Goods yielded a few pieces of Wall Art and from The Container Store: shoe storage. Of course, I saw more things that I need and will be making another trip there soon!

Am I the only Queen that doesn't feel like her hair everyday?!
Well, this day I didn't! And I chose to wear this Black Leather Baseball Cap! Paired with a leather accented Zara sweater. And to add a kick: Vampy Lips! I added some "flavor" to my camel hair coat with my growing collection of brooches. True Regalia fashion: Crowns and Chanel! New York is experiencing the most Wintry Spring I've ever felt. I tried to lift my spirits by wearing light colors: Soft Pink! Pop of color with my Red Vegan Leather Tote, Lace up Booties and my Felt Wide Brim Fedora. All Gold Everything!
My Essentials for the day: My iPad, Fedora, and my weakness: Accessories! Jewelry, Crown accented phone case and my favorite aviators -- Ralph by Ralph Lauren! It's the beginning of another great week!
Why is it great? It's another chance to continue pursue our dreams! I transformed my palace to be totally inspiring from the mugs to the sheets! Today, it's my ottoman! I always keep fresh flowers in my home! Absolutely love candles, so I keep them around as well! And I love being inspired by people! Lupita Nyungo and Kerry Washington cover these two mainstream magazines and are there to prove that girls that look like me are following their dreams, making moves and becoming sources of motivation and inspiration! Be great! Be bold! Be brave! Be you! When I was a little girl, my parents made sure my sister and I were as knowledgeable about Black History as we were on any other subject. So much so, that our home entrance hallway was plastered with photos and speeches of great men including: Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., and Marcus M. Garvey. Recently, I borrowed this book from my father's library. I found 'The Philosophy and Opinions of Marcus Garvey' to be both educational and inspiring.
I must say, when I reread or hear again speeches of our great trailblazers, I am heavyhearted at its present day relevance. I still have hope that one day these dreams will be realized and we will all be free. In Garvey's words: This piece is "not to be read with the eye or mind of prejudice, but with a righteous desire to find the truth, and to help in the friendly and peaceful solution of a grave world problem for the betterment of humanity." Be The Change, Royals! Hey Y'all!
Allow me to share a little known fact about me: I love a sale and a bargain! Well, I browsed through some racks at a Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store and I was not disappointed! The price tag on the shirt was marked down to $25.00 and the same for the pants! I was satisfied with just not paying the full price! But what really blew my mind was when I read the sign: 50% of all marked down items at the register So Yup! I got BOTH items for $25.00! Shout out to all the sale racks around the world! (Dramatic but totally true!) Hey Royals! I had another weekend project! And I'm gunna share it with you! My printer became too conspicuous for my liking, so I browsed Pinterest until I found inspiration: A cabinet! I searched high and low for the perfect fit. And I found it at Target.com It came with two words that many fear, but I embrace: Assembly Required. I put one of my favorite classic movies on in the background (Imitation of Life),
grabbed my tools and went to work! I'm always excited about the opportunity to make something from nothing! We are all born to do, build and create. The same is true for #Craftsman tools. And that's why I use Craftsman! They have been a staple in my family for generations! (For now, I have a few new shoes in the cabinet with my printer, That'll change.. I have the option of putting books, trinkets and other accent pieces in my display cabinet) Happy Building and Happy Interior Styling! Good Day Royals!
Welcome Back to my Living Room! My 'Home Style' can be categorized as: Luxury, Shabby Chic, Parisian... This wall developed into one of my favorites! It started with turning a blank wall into an accent wall. The look of exposed brick gives my palace an eclectic/urban feel. I collected a variety of picture frames from eBay and my parents' basement! The Mix and Match assortment of picture frames on my gallery wall are anchored by this LOVE (stencil-esque) piece as well as this French (handwritten-esque) poster: both from Home Goods. I always feel happy when I look at this wall! For details on how I hung these frames and artwork, request it and I'll b happy to show the details! Until next time! xoxo Hey Royals! A few posts ago, I was asked about this beauty in the background. I'll answer that question today! Here's the deal: I'm small on space in my palace, so I use every opportunity to mend Style with Storage! I had a few cool things in a closet.. and they needed a new space, a bigger space. So on one of my many trips to Home Goods, I fell in love with this linen, studded, cabinet! And now!!! A portion of my collection of purses, pocketbooks and totes live in there!
I have a ton of other stylish storage in my palace. I look forward to sharing more of them with you! And you can use these ideas in your palace! |
